Martial Arts Assistant Instructor Role (Casual)

 Kids Martial Arts Academy in Melbourne is looking for a self-motivated casual Martial Arts Assistant Instructor with a keen interest in working with children. Work hours will initially be for 4 to 6 hours per week, but there will be an opportunity for increased hours, as business grows. The casual martial arts assistant instructor is required to support the head instructor in classes for children aged 4 to 17 years. Classes are held in two primary schools located in the South-East of Melbourne.

 Role & responsibilities:

       Assist in delivering a karate-based curriculum to children aged 4 years to teens

       Set-up and pack-up of mats and equipment for the class (some lifting involved)

       Track student attendance in every class with procedures developed by the company

       Liaise with parents and new customers regarding memberships and procedures

 Qualifications/skills:

       Have experience in karate or a high interest in learning the martial arts

       Enjoys working with children and ability to relate to them

       Good interpersonal communication skills

       A positive and energetic attitude

       Good work ethic and professional conduct

       Must be able to travel independently to schools in the Noble Park & Keysborough areas

 Other requirements

       Current First aid certificate – HLTAID003

–     Hold a working with children check (WWCC) or have eligibility to apply for WWCC
